In the fall on 2012, we took a leap and decided to diversify our farm by opening a campground on our family owned land that borders the eastern shore of East Shoal Lake. Having dealt with several extremely wet summers that caused flooding on what had been farmland and the rising of East Shoal Lake to record levels, we thought the timing was right to start something new for both the community and ourselves.
In the summer of 2013, we opened 25 sites to the public. By the end of the camping season, we had satisfied dozens of camping families that enjoyed their experience at Erinview Campground which confirmed to us that we had made the correct decision in starting this enterprise. After a positive experience our first summer in business, we have decided to expand beyond our meager beginnings of "word of mouth" advertising by starting this website. In 2016, we added water to our now 40+ sites as well as modern bathrooms, showers and a beach for our campers. In 2017, we are pleased to offer 30 amp electrical service in 23 of our sites as we continue to improve the camping experience at Erinview Campground.
We believe that we are repeating history as over one hundred years ago this area was used for recreation by the public. The Lady of the Lake Steamship and The Robertson's Hotel were enjoyed by the community at the turn of the century. Our hope is that we can provide some similar enjoyment for today’s community members.
